This is the outboard side of a Mercruiser 5.7 in a 33 Sea Ray. Note how the block is blown out from freezing.

The heavy rust stains indicated that it had been operated this way for a while, at least a season or two.

The owner has purchased the vessel several years before with no survey and had no idea the condition existed as the engine still ran.

The condition was only visible from the outboard side of the engine.

New engine cost was approximately $10,000.00.
